   A Tale of Two Slippers

Our ever-popular slippers are made in possibly the last remaining hand-made slipper factory in France, reminiscent of the story of the Elves and the Shoe-maker.

Two elderly French sisters used to make these slippers, using traditional techniques.

These are made from the finest leather in their own workshops, in a traditional way, with soft pigskin soles and fully lined with soft kid leather. They are hand sewn and hand turned, in a similar way to making a garment. All the seams are on the inside, which means only the softest leathers can be used.

When they retired, Rachel bought their original machinery and lasts, to avoid these techniques being lost for ever.

These slippers continue to be made today, using the same method. The choice of slippers has become more varied over time and now we offer them in quirky leopard and zebra print pony skin and colourful metallics too, alongside our classic, more traditional colours.

All of our slippers are lovingly wrapped in tissue and presented in a ribbon tied beautiful gift box.

If your size is not online, don’t worry!  We can order a pair to be hand-made especially for you!
Due to the soft leathers and hand made techniques, we are also able to ease the leather to create a slightly wider fit if required.  Please call or email with your order details.  Due to the popularity of our slippers, some colours can take a few weeks to order.
