A Morning of Honest Conversations: Our Q&A at Our House Clubs

There’s something rather special about getting a group of parents, entrepreneurs and small-business owners together in one room - especially when the conversation is about the wonderfully messy juggle of business, family and everything in between.

We were delighted to recently join the wonderful community at Our House Clubs for a special Q&A panel, alongside Harriet Jane London, sharing our experiences, advice and honest thoughts on what it’s really like to build a business while being a parent.

The juggle is real

Running a business is never quite as straightforward as it looks from the outside.

The panel was a brilliant opportunity to talk openly about the realities of starting and growing a small business, the lessons we’ve learnt along the way and the importance of finding a balance that works for you and your family.

Of course, there’s no perfect formula.  Every parent, every business and every family is different - but sharing experiences and learning from one another can make the journey feel a little less daunting.

A wonderful community of parents

What made the morning particularly special was meeting so many inspiring parents from the Our House Clubs community.

There were conversations about ambition, creativity, motherhood, finding your own path and the realities of making a business work around family life. It was wonderful to hear different perspectives and to see just how many talented and entrepreneurial parents are out there.

And, as you can imagine, we had a lot to say!

From the highs and challenges of running a business to the lessons that only years of experience can teach you, it was a morning filled with honest conversations, plenty of laughter and lots of inspiration.

Celebrating parenthood and entrepreneurship

At Rachel Riley, we know a thing or two about building a business around family.  What began with Rachel making clothes for family and friends has grown into a much-loved British childrenswear brand, and family remains at the heart of everything we do.

Being part of events like this is a lovely reminder that behind every small business is a story - and very often, behind that story is a parent doing their best to make it all work.

A huge thank you to Our House Clubs for inviting us, and to everyone who came along, asked questions, shared their stories and made the morning so enjoyable.

We left feeling inspired, energised and reminded of just how wonderful it is when parents support parents.
